Hawai'i - City Lights (12/26/2011)

Monday, December 26, 2011
After swimming with the dolphins, we needed a nap.
Then we had dinner at a place recommmended by Heath from Dolphin Excursions. La Mariana Sailing Club is a tiny privately owned boat club (vs. yacht club) with a cute little restaurant on the water beyond an industrial area down Sand Island Access Road off Nimitz Highway.
I had a dish where the fried eggplant was the "bowl" for the seafood:
Afterwards, we went to see the Honolulu City Lights, the holiday light display at Honolulu Hale/City Hall.
Rudolph and Santa's sleigh:
A lighted "train:"
Brynne & Kent in front of the "Merry Christmas" blocks:
Do the hydrants always look like chimneys?
Brynne is in this postcard:

Honolulu Hale/City Hall:
Mr. & Mrs. Claus:
The Christmas Tree:
Inside City Hall, there was a display of Christmas trees decorated by community organizations:
The Angry Birds Tree:
In a back hallway, there was a display of the wreath contest entries:
The theme seemed to be recycling:
Made of brown paper bags:
Made from plastic fruit protectors:
More natural ingredients:
Back outside, a Lego North Pole:
