A farmers market has been in existence at this site since the 1930s when Earl Phillips opened his property for local Amish farmers and other merchants looking for a place to sell their goods. From a single wooden barn, the market grew into additional buildings. Beginning in the 1950s, the market has been managed by the Cohen family.

In 1973, the original barn and outbuildings were destroyed by fire. The Cohen family rebuilt the market, which has continued to grow in Garnet Valley, PA.
