The Baltimore Museum of Art has an extensive collection of works by Impressionist artists, especially of Henri Matisse. Donated by the Cone sisters, Dr Claribel and Etta, the paintings, sculptures and drawings were purchased during sojourns to Paris. Being contemporaries of Gertrude Stein, they spent time with her and her artist friends.
