Elkins Park, PA (8/23/2022)

Tuesday, August 23, 2022
On the way pack to GFE, we stopped in Elkins Park, PA.
Beth Sholom Synagogue (1959, by Frank Lloyd Wright,
cited as an example of Mayan Revival architecture,
although Wright described it as a "luminous Mount Sinai")
Unfortunately, we had incorrect tour information
A mini Holocaust Monument
Pretty disturbing...
Richard Wall House (1682 with additions) was also
used for Quaker meetings, making it the
oldest meetinghouses still standing in America
A beehive oven and water pump next to the garden
Springhouse
Carriage House
A vintage milepost that seems to indicate
seven miles to Philadelphia
