Azalea Trace (2/14/2022)

Monday, February 14, 2022
Today was the long haul from north of Orlando to Pensacola FL. We showcased Azalea Trace on 9/18-20/2016. Since we were staying overnight in this Acts facility, we will show some of the changes.
There is now a gate and guardhouse (sorry, seen from behind)
When they put in the new driveway, they took out all the azaleas!
The RVs and boats have disapppeared,
and now there are garden plots
Each garden plot has an official name tag
The big addition are a dozen duplex villas
The pond used to be hidden in the woods, but now can be seen from the road
The garden apartments still exist
Oak Bridge Terrace used to be on the same drive as
the main entrance, but is now reached via a separate road
We visited Shirley L, a longtime friend of Kent's parents, in OakBridge, but she did not really remember us.

a gardening/potting table
The gazebo has been turned into an all-season coffee bar
Inside the coffee bar
We had to pass through WillowBrooke Court
The library has a magnifying machine
They are still doing jigsaw puzzles on the raised table
Is this a pickleball court in the activities room?
The Veterans Memorial wall
The fountain in the "oasis"
The hobby shop display case
The Acts Legacy Donor Tree, upon which
Kent's parents have a leaf
There is still table service for breakfast, lunch, and dinner;
and they still have tablecloths!
The formal side of the dining room with the POW-MIA chair
Residents' Gallery
The monthly themed display
The Valentine's Day dinner was in the auditorium,
with live musical entertainemnt
The monthly calendar
The swimming pool has been renovated
This looks like a two-person hot tub!
The cubbies had very nice "Vacant" signs
Two of the three Midrise wings
One of the two Terrace buildings
Entrance lobby to Terrace II
Terrace II hallway
The Terrace II guest apartment was a studio
Dinner was at Goat Lips Chew & Brewhouse
The founders of Goat Lips
Kent had the Raiders of the Last Hops beer
We tried the Baja Spaghetti, with a Mexican blend of
chicken, black beans, corn, and enchilada sauce over
angel hair pasta, served with garlic bread
The Raiders of the Last Hops beer was a winner of
the circa 2012 Sierra Nevada Beer Camp
Sunset at Azalea Trace in Pensacola, FL
We were reminded that Azalea Trace sits in the flight path of planes in and out of Pensacola International Airport.
