$600,000 at the Arkansas State Capitol, we had lunch at
C J's Butcher Boy Burgers in Russellville, AR
Which meant we were having burgers for lunch!

We continued to Rogers, AR to visit with Tamiko's father's cousin Carol M. Tamiko may have last seen Carol 60 years ago, but Carol had more in common with Kent as they both had lived at the same Air Force Base in Japan, perhaps overlapping by one year. I had family documents to hand over to Carol, who is the geneaologist for Tamiko's maternal grandmother's side of the family.
Carol accommodated our request to go to the iconic
Monte Ne Inn for dinner
Monte Ne Inn (1971) is named for a nearby resort that
was not entirely successful, and is now mostly underwater
(Beaver Lake, created by a dam of the White River)
We started with a crock of bean soup
Then came a loaf of bread with apple butter, fried chicken,
mashed potatoes and cream gravy, cole slaw, green beans,
and corn; we passed on dessert, since Carol had
scrumptious Bundtinis at home!
Many thanks to Carol for her wonderful hospitality, great stories about family, tips for our trip, and more!
